Kan-Tak-M was founded by Telluride long-time local George Kuckly with one goal: top-tier private transportation to the best of Colorado.
A lot of our guests stumble on the name the first time, but there's a big heart behind it. Say it with us: We Can Take Them… Can Tak 'Em… Kan-Tak-M!
The name comes from Kant-Mak-M, a double black diamond legendary ski run that is underneath Chair 9 on the Telluride Ski Resort and the favorite run of our founders' dear friend Steven Root, who passed away in 2016. Our logo is Root skiing Kant-Mak-M. Root was a gifted skier, outdoorsman, music fanatic and the life of every party. He was everything that makes this place worth living in, visiting, and sharing with others.
So leave the mountain roads to us. We'll get you to the slopes, into town, and out to whatever adventure awaits, safely and in comfort.

Our People

Originally from New York, George moved to Telluride in 1990. George came for the skiing, the beauty, and the lifestyle, and like so many others found his home. His favorite Telluride memories are rooted in music & skiing, especially seeing the Allman Brothers and Widspread Panic during the Mid-Summer Music Festival in ‘91.
In his several decades in town, George has worked numerous jobs in the service industry. In 2021, George took over Premier Special Events, a tent and catering equipment rental business and production services company, and is excited for his second local venture with Kan-Tak-M.
